On July 4th 2020, Kanye West declared he'd be running for president via a tweet, which Kim retweeted with just an American flag emoji :
“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future,” he wrote. “I am running for president of the United States 🇺🇸! #2020VISION.”
This announcement rattled responses from other celebrities and fans alike! While Tesla's CEO Elon Musk made it clear that he was backing Kanye. Comedian Tiffany Haddish wrote a message like him, declaring that she'd be 'running for office' too, as did Paris Hilton.
Octavia Spencer, Academy- award-winning actress, tweeted about how this was too much foolishness for a day, followed by Full House star Bob Saget asking if he too should run for president.
Some celebs replied a little too seriously, actor and lead singer of the band of ghosts, Eric Balfour, replied to Kim Kardashian's tweet: "Do you guys think this is all a joke? That potentially pulling votes away from the only nominee who can defeat Donald Trump is cute or funny? This is the height of privilege, ultimately it won't hurt you, you're wealthy enough to survive 4 more years of Trump!"
Whether Kanye's actually running for office or if it was all a joke is yet known, but celebs are sure having a good laugh about it!
