While considered a nostalgic take, tie-dye has started to make a rise and seems like its making a comeback in the summer of 2020. Starting last summer as a big trend, tie-dye started to take off amongst the DIY community and then transferred quickly through the mainstream of the industry!
Tie-dye has been the biggest fashion trend throughout the summer of 2020. Primarily because tie-dying has become a fun way to unwind while stuck at home and an easy way to upcycle pieces you already have in your closet. The trend doesn’t just stop at clothes. There are tie-dye hats, shoes, scrunchies, jewellery, scarves—the list just goes on. Dare I say, that it’s officially replaced florals as summer’s top print! Honestly, one can’t shop online (or scroll through Insta) without seeing it pop up. So if tie-dye is calling your name, start shopping at these sites to sport these ’60s and ’70s-inspired multicoloured pieces.

Two helpful tips are to wear gloves and to make sure that you secure all folds, regardless of which method you use, with rubber bands or one of the above tools. Also, make sure you tie tightly. The material will expand when it is wet, so making sure to tie each fold will secure the dye in place. Get it – tie-dye!
