20 has certainly been a rough year for the entertainment industry but recently with countries easing restrictions theatres are now starting to open up. So here are some of the most anticipated movies of 2020 to help keep you up to date

Tenet

Tenet is the latest in the long line of Christopher Nolan’s films, being the most expensive film directed by him to date. That says something as his previous two films interstellar and inception weren’t cheap by industry standards. The plot of the film isn’t known but speculation of time-traveling spies has surfaced up and trailers seem to support that theory. This action-filled thriller seems to have a complex plot with a great emphasis on narrative. The film is said to astonish the audience with its jaw-dropping choreography.

Dune

This is a film adaptation of the award-winning fiction novel by American author Frank Herbert. It is a 2 part film with the first movie completing roughly half of the book. The movie takes place on a sandy inhabitable planet where the only way to survive is by extending your lifespan. The cast selection is flawless with actors such as Zendaya and Timothée charalemet who time and time again have proven to be outstanding actors as they have a deep understanding of their characters well and can connect with the audience at a profound emotional level.

Black widow

Black widow sees Scarlet Johansson reprise her role as Natasha Romanoff for supposedly the last time. The film is said to take place sometime after civil war and before infinity war. Natasha reunites with her family in Russia as she seeks help because her past has finally caught up to her. This time our protagonist goes up against the formidable taskmaster who has built up quite a reputation amongst fans for being a dangerous foe to meddle with. His ability to learn his enemy’s movements within seconds helps him get the upper hand. The film has a diverse and lovable cast who understand their character and can portray them well on the big screen.

No time to die

No time to die is the conclusion to the infamous 007 series (Daniel Craig) the final entry in this marvelous saga will be more serious and will have a deeper, darker tone to it and jam-packed with action sequences. This will be the longest James bond movie in its 58 years run. It takes place right after the previous film. With James not wanting to be involved with the MI6 but his attachments and love for his companions will drag him back into this never-ending mess. The past always comes back to haunt you. After all the trauma and torture he has been through it would be nice to see him hanging the cape and settling down.

Release date: 11th November 2020

Godzilla vs Kong

With what could be the last movie in the monster verse, it sure is ending with a bang. Characters in this film will play an important role and not just be there to create tension or drama as this was a criticism of previous monster verse films. Monsters will play just as important a role as humans being the main emphasis in the story. It takes place after Godzilla: King of the monster and Kong’s skull island. This legendary battle will have a champion who wins rather than having a cliché story. There will also be returning characters from previous films such as Millie Bobby Brown reprising her role as Madison R.
