Top leagues around the world blow the whistle on all footballing activities
The coronavirus pandemic had forced all major leagues to suspend all matches indefinitely causing despair amongst football fans across the globe. On the 4th of March the Italian league, Serie A, was the first to close its doors for fans during matches before eventually postponing the execution of the league following a direct order from the country’s prime minister to ban all sporting countries in the European nation. This event causes somewhat of a domino effect as other leagues like the La Liga, Bundesliga, Premier League, etc were obliged to temporarily suspend all remaining matches for the safety of the players, staff and fans. the European Football Association, UEFA was forced to delay the commencement of the EUROS 2020 to next summer, portraying the magnitude of this global issue. This pandemic has caused the world of football to reach a hiatus of sorts.

Footballers from all across the world did their level best in order to help the victims of this pressing global pandemic and their loved ones. English football’s prodigy, Marcus Rashford has stolen all the limelight with his groundbreaking efforts in making the world a better place for those in need. He raised 2 million euros and saved countless lives by providing them with hot meals every day. Teams from the major leagues including FC Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester United all decided to take pay cuts in order to save the livelihoods of those in need.
The long awaited return of our beloved sport adored by people across the world
Football fans were pleased to hear about the return of professional football when the Bundesliga returned with footballing action on the 16th of last month, the Bavarian giants, Bayern have only asserted their dominance and extended their lead at the top by 7 points and look all set to clinch their 30th league title following their win in the Der Klassiker over rivals, Borussia Dortmund. The introduction of new precautionary measures has been rather intriguing, as suspected fans are forbidden from going to matches in the stadiums and teams have agreed to place social distancing norms into action as far as possible, with pre-match handshakes and team celebrations being prohibited as per newly placed guidelines.

Euros- moved to 2021
UCL and UEL- no confirmation
FA Cup- June 27th
Ligue 1- officially cancelled with PSG crowned champions
