Neuralink is an AI-Brain chip which is founded by the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk. The company was founded in 2016 and the purpose of the chip is to design an interface directly with the human brain. The initial goal of this chip was to treat brain injuries and trauma but when Elon saw the possibility in this product he decided to take this to the next step. The chip could potentially be used to restore eyesight or hearing and it could also increase the range of motion for people with damaged nerves at a limb. The device would be directly embedded into the skull to enable the electrodes to interface with certain areas of the brain. By 2019, Musk said that he was aiming to have the first implant placed in the human brain by 2020 but due to many issues one being the coronavirus this was not possible. One of Musk’s main goals is to use this device to achieve a symbiosis between humans and AI. In layman terms, this means Elon Musk wants to use this chip to enable us to communicate with AI using our heads. This idea does seem very far-fetched but at the rate of the development of technology and Elon’s passion and expertise, it could be a possibility in the future. However, design and mechanics will take ages to perfect. If you would like us to describe the chip in detail or the logic behind how it communicates with your brain or if you even have any questions about this feel free to leave them in the comments below. Thank you for your time!
