Imitation Game
The biopic of a mathematician called Alan Turing that takes place during World War 2. Alan Turing is approached by the British government to crack enigma, the German code used for transmission. Cracking the code is what led Britain to win World War 2. This film has a deep and captivating plot with an outstanding cast, the character interactions are intriguing and fun due to Turing’s odd personality. While the movie does start slow it takes off relatively quickly keeping you invested at all times!
Inception
One of Christopher Nolan’s finest piece of art. The film is a spectacular fantasy thriller which will keep viewers keen at all times. The film’s rich plot combined with a perfect pace helps creates deeper attachments with characters, allowing the story to develop and evolve. The film is filled with spectacular choreographed action sequences. The ending even though a cliffhanger ends on a perfect note making you rethink the entire movie and making you watch it again and again to notice the subtle nuances hidden in plain sight showcasing the amount of effort put into this film.
The Martian
The martian is a marvelous tale adapted from its novel’s counter apart including some creative liberties to help create a splendid film adaptation. The story entails a man who gets stranded on Mars and is tasked with surviving on there with pieces of scraps until his team can recover him. Visual effects are stunning and gorgeous. The film doesn’t stray too far away from reality keeping a perfect balance between fiction and non-fiction to help create thrilling yet believable scenarios.
Five Feet Apart
This movie is quite different from the ones mentioned above. The film deeply focuses on character development to make you feel a part of them, creating a bond with the characters unlike any other, the development of characters throughout the film enriches the story and makes the characters special and unforgettable. The plot while it may be basic still is unique and has an important emphasis on the story. This movie isn’t perfect and has its flaws, the movie sure does takes it time to reach its climax but the slow wait is filled with interesting character interactions deepening the lore with each minute gradually progressing to the big finale. This deep emotional rollercoaster of a film can leave the strongest of hearts in tears by the end of it.
