Green growth may just be the necessary ingredient to our much needed economic and ecological revival. The environmental issues the globe faces today have been greatly exacerbated by our liberal utilisation of crude oil and natural gas inputs, and in a pre-COVID world there simply wasn't enough attention given to the plethora of climate change and its related consequences. The International Energy Agency hosted a virtual summit to discuss their economic recovery plans in light of the entire COVID-19 pandemic and encouraged participants to focus much of their growth and investment strategies in line with clean energy transition goals. China has already implemented some policies to augment investment in the energy sector and continues to launch energy infrastructure policies - level 3 and level 4 countries such as the USA have been notorious for outsourcing their carbon emissions to China, so this is definitely a step in the right direction.
