With f1 returning to action from the 3rd of July starting in Austria’s Red Bull ring. F1 fans now can return to making their F1 fantasy teams, tweaking the ones from last season. The testing sessions gave us a pretty good idea of how the grid would be looking this year.
For new F1 fans this is a simple explanation of the f1 fantasy:
Step 1: Pick a team or three
A budget of $100 million, which is enough to pick 5 drivers and 1 constructor that will give you points for a particular weekend. The deadline to make changes ends when qualifications for that race begin. Once the season gets underway only one change can be made to your team every week, if you need to make more changes it costs you 10 points for each change. Additionally, the unused substitutions don’t carry onto the next week, so choose wisely.
Step 2: Turbo Drivers, Mega Drivers and Wildcards
Selecting the right turbo driver is important, he gives you double the points for each week but the only restriction for this is the driver should cost less than $20 million. You can change your turbo driver without a penalty.
A mega driver triples the score for the driver you select, it can be placed on any driver.
Note: it cannot be used on your turbo driver. However, it can be used only 2 times, once in the first 8 races and thereafter.
Beware a score even if negative can be multiplied by these boosters.
Wildcard allows you to make unlimited changes to your team without a penalty, also can be used only twice, once for the first 8 races scheduled and then for the next races.
Step 3: Join or create a league and invite your friends
Your first picked team is automatically entered into the global league and the league of your favourite constructor. While only team one can be entered in those leagues, you can create or join leagues with your friends!
Step 4: watch the points roll in
The constructors’ points are accumulated by both the drivers and beat teammate. Driver streak points are both not counted for a constructor.
The scoring given below is what drivers and constructors are given points based on:
The new F1 fantasy season is based on real-time performance as players and team data updates are given in real-time allowing you to see your team’s performance as the event unfolds. Driver pricing is now dynamic: every hour, driver and constructor prices now change based on additions and removals from all players.
